Back in 2016, a not-for-profit health maintenance organization (HMO) serving over 25,000 members across New England found itself at a pivotal moment as its growth surged. With plans to expand its workforce by over 75 employees, the company recognized that investing in talent was crucial. Based on a previous successful engagement with Advanced RPO at another organization, the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) again reached out for support. Their goals were clear: tackle immediate hiring needs while crafting a long-term talent acquisition strategy to optimize workforce outcomes, enhance talent quality, boost new hire diversity, speed up the hiring process, and upgrade their recruitment technology.

Solution

We kicked off our engagement with a deep dive discovery process to understand the client’s current state and collaboratively outline their vision for the future. This exploration revealed two key opportunities: refreshing recruitment profiles to better align with the goals of HR and hiring managers, and using historical recruitment data to establish new performance benchmarks.

To bring this strategy to life, we appointed an experienced Account Manager to lead the charge, supported by a dedicated team of skilled sourcers, recruiters, and talent acquisition coordinators who resonated with the client’s culture. Additionally, we built a scalable pool of support specialists who could quickly adapt to the ebb and flow of hiring demands. As new challenges arose—like the need for an integrated Applicant Tracking System (ATS), navigating hiring freezes, enhancing diversity in recruitment and retention, and expanding the workforce in response to pandemic-driven growth surges—our agile talent acquisition framework proved invaluable in addressing the client’s ever-changing needs.
